Tressa Wave Test Instructions
Sink or Swim Test
Float clean, dry hair in a bowl of water. After a moment, does it stay floating atop the water or does it sink under? Floating hair indicates healthy porosity, which means the hair is healthy enough to receive a chemical service.
Hair that sinks under the water is too porous and should not be waved. Remove the hair from the water and consult a professional for further advice.

Nathan Simpson –
The waves delivered a consistent, natural-looking curl. My stylist used the sink or swim test first and confirmed my hair was healthy. The result was smooth and long-lasting without frizz.
Gordon Jones –
I’ve used several wave products before, but this one gave the most even curl. The triple bonding technology seems to preserve hair strength. I’d recommend it to professionals.
Theresa Chapman –
The product works as described, but only after confirming hair health with the sink or swim test. It’s not for beginners or those with very porous hair.
